I Wish To Go To Disney World – Matthew Wolford – 5 Years Old
One more deserving child had his dream come true on July 26, 2012. Thanks to Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and Give Kids the World, a partnering international wish-granting organization in Orlando, Florida. When Matthew (Age 5 years) returned to Barbados on August 2, 2012, with his seven-year-old brother Leon Woolford, his mother Sherry-Ann Brathwaite and the Foundation’s Representative Shakida Belgrave, he was smiling as he ran to his dad Martin Woolford. The family was met at the Airport by Directors and friends of the Foundation. As they walked to their surprise limousine provided by Exquisite Limousine Services Inc., a beaming Matthew said “It was great fun. I enjoy seeing Elmo, going on slides and feeding the dolphins at Sea World. Matthew’s dad emotionally thanked the Foundation for making Matthew’s precious wish come true and told them to keep up the good work which they are doing.
I Wish To Have A Laptop – Shanise Niles – 12 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and the Coleridge & Parry School jointly turned Shanise Niles (Age 12 years) dream into reality on Sunday, May 27, 2012, when they presented her with a Sony VA10 Laptop. When the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. team and her YearHead teacher Mrs. Pauline Farley made a surprise visit to Shanise home to present her with the Laptop, she was almost moved to tears. After carefully inspecting her Laptop, and in a very soft but emotional voice, Shanise thanked the Foundation and Mrs. Farley for making her precious wish come true. Her Mum Marian Niles said that Shanise always wished to have her own computer.
Upcoming Charity Extravaganza
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and The Indar Weir Travel Centre have joined together to stage a major fundraising family event (Charity Extravaganza) to raise funds for the granting of wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions, and children who are terminally ill between the ages of two (2) and sixteen (16) years, as well as promote awareness to the wonderful work of the Foundation. This Charity Extravaganza is scheduled to take place on Saturday June 30, 2012 at the Deighton Griffith School, Kingsland Christ Church from 10.00am – 10.00pm. Admission: Adults $10.00 and Children (under 12) $5.00. Children (2 years and under) FREE. This event is proposed to consist of several local businesses selling merchandise, food and drinks. There will also be a variety of exciting games and various attractions for children, as well as entertainment throughout the day by clubs, youth groups, religious groups and organizations. Music will be provided by a DJ at intervals during the day, and we will be having movies projected on a big screen for the entire family. This event takes the form of a big family ‘Fair’ comprising six (6) sections, namely: VITALITY, RADIANCE, LEISURE, EXUBERANCE, INDULGENCE and MUNIFICENCE. I Wish To Have A Big Flat Screen TV & A DVD Player – Daniel Grant – 7 Years Old
Daniel Grant (Age 7 years) was very happy to see his wish come true compliments of Precious Touch Foundation Inc. in collaboration with Lanterns at Hastings. Faced with many challenges in his life to date, Daniel Grant had no reason to frown on Thursday, February 23, 2012, as Managing Director, Lanterns at Hastings, Mr. Frederick George proudly presented him with a 40-inch flat screen television, DVD player, and mount stand. Sadly Daniel Grant passed away on June 18, 2013.
I Wish To Have A Birthday Party – Reanne Grandison – 9 Years Old
Many children dream of having a birthday party and celebrating that special day in style. Reanne Grandison (Age 9 years) can certainly attest to this wonderful experience. On Saturday, February 11, 2012, compliments Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and Hilton Barbados Resort, she got the opportunity to see her dream turned into reality. Reanne enjoyed a funfilled evening surrounded by family, schoolmates, and teachers from the West Terrace Primary, friends, directors from the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and the staff at Hilton Barbados at the hotel. Treated like a true birthday celebrity, Reanne was thrilled at the performances of a magician, and her favorite character Dora while enjoying the music of Michael Jackson. Sadly, Reanne died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
I Wish To Have A Computer With Free Internet Service – Romar Emanuel -11 Years Old
Returning home after being discharged from the hospital on December 20, 2011, to spend the Christmas holidays with his family, 11-year-old Romar Emanuel was elated when Precious Touch Foundation Inc. partnered with LIME to make his precious wish a reality. His wish was to have a desktop computer with a year’s FREE internet service. Romar’s mother Marsha Emanuel was very grateful to both entities for granting her son his wish. Romar said with emotions in his voice, that he is very happy to receive the computer. His wish was granted on December 22, 2011, at his home by representatives from LIME. Directors and volunteers of Precious Touch Foundation Inc. were also present. Sadly Romar passed away on Good Friday, April 6, 2012.

I Wish To Be A Princess For a Day – Rasonte Parsons – 9 Years Old
On Saturday, August 27, 2011, Precious Touch Foundation Inc. granted nine-year-old Rasonte Parsons her one wish of being a Princess for a day. With the kind assistance from the Management of Cave Shepherd & Co.Ltd. and Hilton Barbados, little Rasonte enjoyed the life of a true princess. Princess Rasonte and her family arrived at Cave Shepherd in a black limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc. for a shopping spree, accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Shannelle Bourne-Clarke and her bodyguard Davian. She was met by Mr. Hugh Durant, Corporate Communications Manager and his staff, directors and volunteers of the Foundation and other family members and friends. Princess Rasonte was then escorted to Tasha’s Wonderland where she picked out a wide range of toys and dolls, even allowing her two escorts to select some gifts for themselves. After leaving Cave Shepherd & Co. Ltd. Princess Rasonte and her entourage arrived at the Hilton Hotel to a warm welcome with a trumpet fanfare sounded by members from the Barbados Defence Force. She was greeted by the general manager Mr. Matthew Mullan and his staff, directors of the Foundation and the media. After her VIP check-in, Princess Rasonte and her family were taken to the Prime Minister’s suite where they spent the rest of the day receiving royal treatment. Later in the evening, Princess Rasonte, her family and friends, directors, and volunteers of the Foundation along with the hotel staff enjoyed her royal ball which featured live entertainment compliments Hilton Barbados. When asked how she felt being a princess for a day, Rasonte said, “Oh my gosh, all of this for me. I feel special, this is the best present I have ever had.”

What was the wish?: Princess for a day Why did you choose this wish?: I wanted to experience royalty. You see my daddy is the King of all Kings and I’ve always been a princess, so when Adorial Maxwell-Hazell called that was my very first response. What did your wish mean to you?: Wow……. it meant that I was a real real princess with all the glamour to go with it. I feel so bless. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?: When I arrived at my ball. It was so magnificent, and such an overwhelming experience. It was a lot more than I expected. The lights, my friends, my family, the royal treatment and all the beautiful decorations. How are you feeling now?: I was happy for the entire weekend but as Sunday came to an end I started to feel a little sad because it was coming to an end. How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: Adorial Maxwell-Hazell called my mummy, explained to her about how the foundation works and it all started there. What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: Precious Touch Foundation Inc. helped bring my wish to reality, along with Cave Shepherd and the Barbados Hilton and I am truly thankful that Mrs. Maxwell-Hazell contacted us.
London-based Charity Gives Back
By Kerri Gooding “THIS is home and home needs help,” said Chairman of the Barbados Cultural Organisation, Cedric Lynch, as he made a donation of two thousand pounds to the Precious Touch Foundation Inc., on behalf of the organisation. Comprising over 30 Barbadian members living in London areas, the organisation annually selects a worthwhile charity in Barbados and makes a considerable donation to fund some aspect of the charity or assist with the achievement of objectives and goals of the charity. This year, the charity deemed worthy is Precious Touch Foundation Inc. Throughout the 11 years of existence, Chairman Lynch said that the organisation has donated to almost every charity one can think of in Barbados and in various areas including cancer, neurology, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and many others. Lynch also said that they tend to veer towards charities which provide assistance and focus on children more, though they help others once the cause is found commendable. The funds provided have allowed Precious Touch Foundation Inc. to fulfil the wish of Hasani Rowe, who wished to visit Disney World. The donation ensured that Rowe could travel to Florida, making his dream come true. Precious Touch Foundation Inc. stood out from other suggested charities because, according to Lynch, “The idea is novel and children are benefiting.” Having hosted two fund-raising activities which are organised annually – a dinner and a cricket match, which has grown so large that over 4 000 persons are in attendance now – the Barbados Cultural Organisation carefully chose their Barbadian charity. As the saying goes, “Home drums beat first,” and the organisation is truly providing assistance to charities back at home in Barbados. Founder and Director of the Precious Touch Foundation Inc., Adorial Maxwell-Hazell, was very delighted and pleased to accept the donation on behalf of the foundation at the Tamarind Cove Hotel yesterday and assured Lynch that the funds will be used to improve the quality of life for children, fulfilling their wishes one wish at a time beginning with wish recipient, Hasani Rowe.
