I Wish To Have A Play Station with a TV – Lamar Goodridge-Howell -12 Years Old
Children are so very special and so are their wishes – Lamar Goodridge-Howell (12 years old) wished for a Play Station with a TV. The beautiful smile shown on his face when he got the news that his wish would be granted on World Wish Day April 29th was a camera moment to behold. After receiving such wonderful news: this sweet, talkative and mannerly little boy kept asking everyone who visited him at the hospital, “Can I get my wish now” and the answer was always “in a few days, just relaxed we are planning something special for you” As the planning got closer and closer to World Wish Day, the excitement intensified and soon everyone was eagerly looking forward to this special wish granting occasion. Sadly on the evening of April 22nd 2017, with just one week before our World Wish Day event, the sad news was given to us. Unbelievable and quite unexpectedly, Little Lamar Goodridge-Howell died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It was a joy to have met this adorable little boy, may he rest in eternal peace. Sadly Lamar Goodridge-Howell passed away on April 22, 2017
I Wish To Have A Staycation & Gospel Concert – Donnika McCollin – 15 Years Old
Children are so very special and so are their precious wishes. On the weekend of March 24th & 25th 2018, 15-year-old Donnika McCollin while a patient at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital was excitingly looking forward to her wish of a Staycation Weekend and Gospel Concert at Fairmont Royal Pavilion with her mum Donna and her uncle. It would have been an occasion filled with lots of fun, laughter, excitement and musical entertainment as the P.T.F family bundled together to plan a Concert fit for a Princess. Then a few days just before Donnika’s weekend wish, we received the painful news that she was now too ill and so we had to cancel her Staycation at the hotel. However, we were still hopeful that the second part of Donnika’s wish could still be granted and so we continued with our plans for her Concert which was scheduled for 25th March, but this precious wish was not to be fulfilled as she was preparing herself for her departure. Sadly on March 31, 2018 our beautiful wish Angel Donnika Mccollin passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
I Wish To Have A Gold iPhone 7 – Ciara Yearwood-Harper – 11 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. continues to bring smiles and happiness to the faces of some special children. On March 8th, 2018, wish child Ciara Yearwood-Harper (11 years) had lots of reasons to smile sweetly as her precious wish which was sponsored by the Management of Chefette Restaurants Ltd. finally come true. Ciara, a student of Eden Lodge Primary School seemed quite nervous as her wish of a Gold iPhone7 was presented to her by Chefette’s Marketing Manager Marquest Griffith at their Head Office, Harbour Road St. Michael. This very exciting presentation was witnessed by representatives of the Foundation along with Ciara’s Mum Maria Yearwood and Chefette’s Advertising Manager Lisa Carter. Precious Touch Foundation Inc. sincerely thank Mr. Ryan Haloute (Managing Director) and his dedicated staff for their very kind assistance in fulfilling the wishes of our children.
I Wish To Have A Laptop – Janae Philips – 6 Years Old
On Saturday, September 23, 2017, Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and the kind staff at the Barbados High Commissioner’s Office in London fulfilled 6-year-old Janae Philips wish. On arriving at her home, a shy looking Janae was obviously overwhelmed by our presence as she stared around the room hoping to see her gift of a Laptop. After some friendly teasing, Minnie Mouse entered the living room holding a pink bag in her enormous hands and the smile on Janae’s face was priceless, creating an awesome ‘wow’ moment. Little Janae’s wish was to have a laptop. It had to be pink and it had to have pics of her favorite character Minnie Mouse…… Not only did we fulfill her wish thanks to the staff of the Barbados High Commissioner’s office in London (and Capt. Ricky Ellcock of Virgin Atlantic – who transported the laptop). but a big thank you also goes out to Nicholai Payne and Kids World Rentals for always assisting us in making these precious moments even more memorable. Thank you also to our faithful volunteers who attended the presentation and were a part of Janae’s special moment. Towards the end of Janae’s wish Janae’s mum, Jamila thanked the Precious Touch Foundation for making her wish come true.
I Wish To Go To St Lucia’s Water Park – Jaiden Layne – 9 Years Old
Some wishes are truly extraordinary in nature and one such wish was granted on the 26th August 2017. Jaiden Layne (9 years) accompanied by his grandmother Deborah Jackman and The Precious Touch Foundation Inc. representatives Damien Bennett and Liz-Ann Baker departed Barbados for St. Lucia to fulfill Jaiden’s wish of “I wish to go to the water park in St. Lucia”. Jaiden’s wish was sponsored by the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and World Electronics. Jaiden and his grandmother stayed at the luxurious Bay Gardens Beach Resort in Rodney Bay which is located to the north of the island and which is also a stones throw away from St. Lucia’s water park “Splash Island”. Six (6) 1 hour complimentary passes were given to Jaiden for him to soak up his wish. The stay in St. Lucia was not limited to just Splash Island, but daily expeditions saw Jaiden and his grandmother taking in the sights, sounds, heat and natural beauty of the island via coach, tram and boat. During his time on the island, Jaiden went on a tram ride through the rain forest, whale and dolphin watching, traversing along the worlds only drive in volcano “Soufriere” and a catamaran. He also couldn’t leave the island without getting a mud bath in the sulfur water from the volcano and taking a dip under one of St. Lucia’s waterfalls. Jaiden’s love for animals was seen when he was able to observe a baby sperm whale swimming whilst on the whale watching expedition. This took his breath away and the excitement showed. Jaiden truly soaked up his wish with many dips at the hotels pool when it was time to relax. The Precious Touch Foundation Inc wishes to thank the Bay Gardens Beach Resort, World Electronics, Splash Island Water Park and the drivers who safely provided transport and in making Jaidens wish come true.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Shamara Bailey-Leacock – 12 Years Old
Shamara Bailey-Leacock (12 years) was very excited about her secret wish especially since it would give her the opportunity to travel for the first time in an airplane. When asked about what she wished for, she smiled sweetly and whispered “I wish to go to Disney World” Despite her physical challenge, this sweet adorable little girl got her wish granted through the kind support of Manulife Re. On August 19, 2017, Shamara accompanied by her dad Sheens Leacock, and Precious Touch Foundation Inc. representatives Adorial Maxwell-Hazell and Carolyn Breedy left Barbados for a one week visit to Orlando Florida. There she enjoyed all the magical wonders of Disney World, also the wonderful thrills and fantasies from as many rides as she could accommodate including all the entertainment planned for children at Give Kids the World Village. Shamara truly enjoyed watching the Penguins and being in the Pool and meeting all her favorite Disney characters. It is certain that she will always remember this awesome experience as she did not want to leave at the end of her visit. I Wish To Go To Disney World – Ria Barrow-Campbell – 16 Years Old
On August 19, 2017 a very pleasant and excited Ria Barrow-Campbell, her mum Juel Barrow and Precious Touch Foundation Inc. representatives Shakida Belgrave and Petra Burton left Barbados for Orlando Florida to fulfill Ria’s wish to Disney World which was made possible by the kind support and generous donation from Wills Primary School. While in Florida, Ria and her party stayed at Give Kids the World Village, a 79 acres nonprofit resort in Kissimmee Florida which provides through its vast network of Corporate and Community partners accommodation, transportation, theme park tickets, meals, including exciting daily entertainment and much more. Ria enjoyed all the attractions at Disney World especially the whales watching at the Water Parks, and the many awesome rides some of which she encouraged her mum and Shakida to experience more than three times. She also took the opportunity to enjoy some shopping for her favorite items and took some time to pose with Disney World characters. Precious Touch Foundation Inc. wishes to thank the management, staff, parents and children of Wills Primary School for their kind assistance in making Ria’s precious wish a reality.
I Wish To Go To Jamaica – Marisa Oughterson 6 Years Old
Wishes do come true for some special little children. On December 25, 2016 (Christmas Day) Precious Touch Foundation Inc. turned a beautiful little girl’s precious wish into reality. Director Adorial Maxwell Hazell had the awesome privilege of accompanying our wish child Marisa Oughterson (6 years), her brother Michael along with her parents Sergeant Malcolm Oughterson (BDF) and Natasha Roberts on her wish to Jamaica. Marisa and her family enjoyed a fun-filled week with accommodation at Knutsford Court Hotel and were treated to first class service from the very pleasant and courteous staff. The week was specially planned for Marisa with many outdoor activities giving her the opportunity to visit places of interest such as the Bob Marley Museum, the Hope Zoo where she was amused and entertained by the presence of many different types of animals and birds. Marisa loved every minute spent at Portmore Mall Fun Fest where water sports activities were the highlight of the day. She and her brother Michael really loved the pool and had a great time showing off their water skills. The following days, we visited Ocho Rios where we enjoyed the breathtaking moments of Dunn’s River Falls and the beautiful Mystic Mountains riding the heart-shaking Bob Sledge and the relaxing Sky Explorer. As you could imagine no overseas wish is completed without a leisure day for shopping, and Marisa anxiously looked forward to going shopping for her favorite toy dolls and fancy outfits. The experience of shopping around Kingston was pleasantly amusing as we strolled from store to store checking out items until Marisa settled on exactly what she needed, dolls and more dolls. Now it was time to leave Jamaica, sadly bringing this precious wish to an end. For me, it was truly a pleasure spending a week with this sweet little girl and her family. I Wish To Go To Disney World – Nathan Prescod – Age 6 years
On December 24th, 2016 a very excited Nathan Prescod, his mum Kerry-Ann Prescod, father Michael Watson and Precious Touch Foundation Representative Adrian Millington left Barbados for Kissimmee Florida to fulfill Nathan’s wish ‘I Wish to Go to Disney World’. Nathan’s wish to visit Disney World was made possible thanks to Xhosa Barbados Kadooment Band, which gave a very generous donation towards making Nathan’s wish possible. Whilst in Orlando Nathan and his family stayed at Give Kids the World Village – a 79-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida. Which provides through its vast network of community partners accommodations in fully-furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment and much more.. Nathan enjoyed his visits to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orland Resort, and SeaWorld immensely as he took part in many of the rides and shows and got to meet with many Disney Characters including his favorite character from the Transformers movie ‘Optimus Prime’. He also enjoyed having the opportunity to shop for some of his favorite toys. I Wish To Have A Play Station 4 With Games – Jared Taylor – 15 Years Old
On Saturday, September 10, 2016, Precious Touch Foundation Inc. with the kind assistance of Chefette Restaurants Ltd. fulfilled another boy’s wish. Jared Taylor (15 years old) wished for a Play Station 4 with games. This precious wish was granted at his home where he and his family waited anxiously on the arrival of our wish team. The excitement rose to a high when Jared was presented with his PS4 by volunteer Brenda Foster who gave him a loving hug after the presentation. This special occasion was witnessed by Jared’s mum Renaldo Taylor, grandmother Veronica Taylor, and his siblings along with directors and volunteers of the Foundation. Sadly Jared Taylor passed away on October 6, 2017
