Jaleah Hoyte’s Wish Story
What was the wish?: To travel to Disney World Why did you choose this wish?: I wanted to have the experience of a lifetime What did your wish mean to you?: It meant that I was on my way to leading a healthy life again and also a dream come true. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?: That would be riding on the roller coaster “The Hulk” How are you feeling now?: Very grateful for the experience How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: I learn about the foundation when I was on ward C8 and Nurse Barrow came to tell us about it What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: I would tell persons that the people who run the foundation, go to great lengths to ensure that all children with illnesses who they come into contact with have an experience to remember for the rest of their lives. In the midst of the challenges we as children go through, they try everything in they power to put smiles on our faces through our dark days. Please give your support to them so they can do for other children what they did for me.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Jaleah Hoyte – 15 Years Old
Another precious wish granted. With the kind assistance from Manulife Re, Precious Touch Foundation Inc. was able to make 15-year-old Jaleah Hoyte’s wish come true. On April 11, 2015, Jaleah, her mum Jillian and brother Jaden accompanied by representatives from the Foundation left Barbados for Disney World. The group was accommodated at Give Kids The World Village, Orlando Florida, where they enjoyed a week of ‘true fantasy life’ and visited many theme parks at Disney World. When asked what she liked most about her wish, Jaleah said “I like the characters at Disney World and stuff like that, and always wanted to go. So when the opportunity came, I had to take it.” Precious Touch Foundation Inc. made sure that the excitement continued for Jaleah after returning home to Barbados. To her surprise, she was presented with a pink rose from volunteer Kevin Barrow before exiting the Airport with her family in a limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc. Sadly Jaleah Hoyte passed away on August 29, 2015.
I Wish To Go On A Boat In The Sea – Takara Straker – 6 Years Old
Another little girl has lots of reasons to smile. On June 29, 2014, Precious Touch Foundation Inc., in association with Tiami Catamaran Cruises made 6-year-old Takara Straker’s wish come true in fine style. Takara wished to go ‘on a boat in the sea’ and the management of Tiami Catamaran Cruises kindly consented to sponsor Takara, her parents Kirk Straker and Tracia Chandler and her three sisters on a lunch cruise from 10.00am – 3.00pm. It was a very exciting and joyous occasion for Takara who arrived in a limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc. Several family members, friends, directors, and volunteers of the Foundation joined in this momentous occasion and enjoyed a fun-filled day at sea. The staff of the Tiami Catamaran Cruises provided a very warm, welcoming, friendly and professional atmosphere to start the day and the service was excellent. We were treated like royalty throughout the entire cruise as they made sure that everyone was comfortable and happy. We were constantly being served with lots of refreshing drinks and snacks and the lunch was delicious. To enhance the wish, Takara who was warmly cuddled in her father’s arms chuckled with excitement as she enjoyed watching the turtles swim around the children who got a chance to go into the water. After that spectacular sight, Takara took a well-deserved rest. On behalf of our wish family and the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. team, I wish to say a ‘big’ thank you to the management and staff of the Tiami Catamaran Cruises especially Cheri, Josh, Captain Peter, our Barman David and the rest of the team members for making Takara and everyone on board feel special. Truly a wonderful wish for a very wonderful and loving little girl. Takara, we love you and wish you well.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Janica Moore – 4 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and its wish partner Give Kids the World created a magical experience for wish child Janica Moore. Janica (age 4) and her mum Jan Moore, accompanied by representative Henderson Rouse left Barbados on July 21, 2013, for a week-long visit to Orlando Florida where they enjoyed the usual royalty treatment. On their arrival at Give Kids the World Village, the wish family was met by members of the Barbados Association of Central Florida and Tampa Bay, and they were honored with a special reception which included the raising of our National flag. During the week, Janica, her mum Jan and Henderson were taken on tours to Disney World theme parks, Universal Studio, Magic Kingdom, Sea World and Disney Blizzard Beach Waterpark. Big smiles greeted Janica when she exited the arrival hall of the Grantley Adams International Airport on July 27th, including members of her family, the Precious Touch Foundation’s team, Regina Ramjit (Miss Barbados World 2013) and Mr. Henderson Griffith (president – Barbados Association of Central Florida and Tampa Bay).
Janica Moore’s Wish Story
What was the wish?: To go to Disney World Why did you choose this wish?: Because she likes Kikey Mouse What did your wish mean to you?: She was happy to see Tinkerbell and Mary Poppins and Beauty and the Beast. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?: Going to Seaworld and seeing all her favorite characters on parade. How are you feeling now?: Janica still feeling excited. How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: We found out about Precious Touch Foundation Inc when Adorial came to the hospital and talk to me about the foundation. What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: That it is a good foundation and it helps children who are sick and I am glad that Janica was one of the children to go overseas.
I Wish To Fly In An Airplane – Antwan Foster – 5 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and its sponsor Paloma Charitable Trust made little Antwan Foster’s (Age 5 years) wish come true with a week-long visit to New York on April 7, 2013, to meet relatives. He was accompanied by his mum Nadia Foster, his grandmother Mrs. Heather Vaughan and a representative from the Foundation Mrs. Harrietta Clarke. Antwan’s wish afforded him the opportunity to visit some interesting places and historic sites in New York. He also attended church service and enjoyed shopping. Antwan’s mum said that he enjoyed himself to the fullest and the trip was a lot of fun. Before leaving the Airport in a black limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc., Nadia and Heather thanked the Foundation for making Antwan’s wish come true. Sadly Antwan Foster passed away on October 26, 2015.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Matthew Wolford – 5 Years Old
One more deserving child had his dream come true on July 26, 2012. Thanks to Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and Give Kids the World, a partnering international wish-granting organization in Orlando, Florida. When Matthew (Age 5 years) returned to Barbados on August 2, 2012, with his seven-year-old brother Leon Woolford, his mother Sherry-Ann Brathwaite and the Foundation’s Representative Shakida Belgrave, he was smiling as he ran to his dad Martin Woolford. The family was met at the Airport by Directors and friends of the Foundation. As they walked to their surprise limousine provided by Exquisite Limousine Services Inc., a beaming Matthew said “It was great fun. I enjoy seeing Elmo, going on slides and feeding the dolphins at Sea World. Matthew’s dad emotionally thanked the Foundation for making Matthew’s precious wish come true and told them to keep up the good work which they are doing.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Hasani Rowe – 12 Years Old
Many people dream of the day when they can visit Disney World, and after a lifetime of dreaming Hasani Rowe (Age 12 years) was the worthy recipient of a fulfilled wish trip donated by the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. Hasani accompanied by his mum Jennifer Rowe and a representative from the Foundation Adrian Millington left Barbados on August 10th, 2011, and returned August 20th, 2011, with memories of “a once in a lifetime experience”.Big smiles greeted Hasani and his chaperones when they exited the arrivals’ hall of the Grantley Adams International Airport including his dad Mark Rowe, his sister, his niece and the Foundation’s team. Hasani said, “it was a great experience, and I would go again”. Some of the numerous features and rides, as well as places which made his trip remarkable, included Splash Mountain, the Water Park, Sea World, Hollywood Studios and Mount Everest.
Hasani Rowe’s Wish Story
What was the wish?: To go to Disney World. Why did you choose this wish?: I chose this wish because Disney is a once in a lifetime experience. I have always heard about Disney and I always wanted to experience it. What did your wish mean to you?: To me, my wish meant a lot to me. I felt like I was in a dreamland. I actually got to see all my favorite Disney characters, and I got to find out who created Disney, it was a dream come true. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?: My favorite moment from this trip was the last roller coaster in Disney Hollywood studios. Where the roller coaster goes all directions. How are you feeling now?: I am feeling so great and so well and healthy. How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: A member of the Precious touch foundation, read my story in a daily newspaper. They called to find out how I was doing. It was at that time that I learned about Precious touch foundation. What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: I want to tell people that the Precious touch foundation is a very helpful organization that cares for children who went thru difficult times.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Krishawn Greaves – 4 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and its sponsors made little 4-year-old Krishawn Greaves ‘wish’ come true with an 8-day stay at International Palms Resort in Orlando where he and his family were chaperoned by Mrs. Eleanor Brown, Public Relations Officer for the Foundation. From April 9th – 15th, Krishawn had his wish fulfilled in its entirety by visiting the theme parks, water parks, and Universal Studios. Krishawn said the highlight for him was Disney Blizzard Beach, Water Park. Krishawn shared his very precious experience with his mother Crystal Greaves, stepdad Dwayne Winfield, brother Deshawn Greaves and sister Talayna Winfield. Krishawn and his family were met on arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport by the Directors and Volunteers of Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and then he and his family were transported to their home in Clinketts St. Lucy by limousine compliments Exquisite Limousine Services Inc.
