What was the wish?: I wished to go to Jamaica. Why did you choose this wish?: i choose it cause i wanted to travel on a plane. What did your wish mean to you?: I get to spend time with my family and see a different country. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?:My favorite moment was playing in the water play park in Jamaica. How are you feeling now?: I am feeling good. How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: When I was hospitalize a nurse told my mother about it. What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?:The foundation really help children get their wishes come true.
I Wish To Go To Jamaica – Marisa Oughterson 6 Years Old
Wishes do come true for some special little children. On December 25, 2016 (Christmas Day) Precious Touch Foundation Inc. turned a beautiful little girl’s precious wish into reality. Director Adorial Maxwell Hazell had the awesome privilege of accompanying our wish child Marisa Oughterson (6 years), her brother Michael along with her parents Sergeant Malcolm Oughterson (BDF) and Natasha Roberts on her wish to Jamaica. Marisa and her family enjoyed a fun-filled week with accommodation at Knutsford Court Hotel and were treated to first class service from the very pleasant and courteous staff. The week was specially planned for Marisa with many outdoor activities giving her the opportunity to visit places of interest such as the Bob Marley Museum, the Hope Zoo where she was amused and entertained by the presence of many different types of animals and birds. Marisa loved every minute spent at Portmore Mall Fun Fest where water sports activities were the highlight of the day. She and her brother Michael really loved the pool and had a great time showing off their water skills. The following days, we visited Ocho Rios where we enjoyed the breathtaking moments of Dunn’s River Falls and the beautiful Mystic Mountains riding the heart-shaking Bob Sledge and the relaxing Sky Explorer. As you could imagine no overseas wish is completed without a leisure day for shopping, and Marisa anxiously looked forward to going shopping for her favorite toy dolls and fancy outfits. The experience of shopping around Kingston was pleasantly amusing as we strolled from store to store checking out items until Marisa settled on exactly what she needed, dolls and more dolls. Now it was time to leave Jamaica, sadly bringing this precious wish to an end. For me, it was truly a pleasure spending a week with this sweet little girl and her family. I Wish To Go To Disney World – Nathan Prescod – Age 6 years
On December 24th, 2016 a very excited Nathan Prescod, his mum Kerry-Ann Prescod, father Michael Watson and Precious Touch Foundation Representative Adrian Millington left Barbados for Kissimmee Florida to fulfill Nathan’s wish ‘I Wish to Go to Disney World’. Nathan’s wish to visit Disney World was made possible thanks to Xhosa Barbados Kadooment Band, which gave a very generous donation towards making Nathan’s wish possible. Whilst in Orlando Nathan and his family stayed at Give Kids the World Village – a 79-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida. Which provides through its vast network of community partners accommodations in fully-furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment and much more.. Nathan enjoyed his visits to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orland Resort, and SeaWorld immensely as he took part in many of the rides and shows and got to meet with many Disney Characters including his favorite character from the Transformers movie ‘Optimus Prime’. He also enjoyed having the opportunity to shop for some of his favorite toys. I Wish To Go To Canada – Nahjae Haynes – 10 Years Old
On August 13th, 2016, Nahjae Haynes, accompanied by his parents Anthony and Natasha, as well as Precious Touch Foundation Inc. Vice President St Auban Callender, lifted off from Grantley Adams International Airport bound for Vancouver, Canada to meet his family members, some of whom he had never met. Nahjae and family were the guests of his cousin Nathaniel Brewster in West Vancouver. During his stay, Nahjae enjoyed the company of a number of extended family members who visited from locally and overseas especially to spend time with him. Some of the activities enjoyed during his stay included; Biking in Stanley Park – this is a coastal park specially geared to bikers and allows for bikers to stop at various areas to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. A day at the beach – an active time at Kits Beach. A visit to Play Land with all the exciting rides, games etc. Nahjae was having so much fun that his stay was extended by 6 days at the request of his parents, and he reluctantly departed Vancouver on August 26th, to arrive back home in Barbados on August 27th. On arrival at the Airport, Nahjae and his mum were met by members of the Foundation who welcomed them back home in fine style. When Nahjae was asked about his wish experience in Canada, he was reluctant to speak at first but then with a shy-looking smile remarked that he wanted to stay a bit longer as he was having so much fun with his family. Natasha thanked the Foundation for granting Nahjae’s wish and said that she also had a great time. Another precious wish granted, thanks to our very kind sponsors – Manulife Re.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Ajani Grazette – 4 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. made certain that one little boy will always remember the best week of his life. Ajani Grazette (4 years) got his precious wish granted on March 26, 2016, when he, his mum Andrea Brathwaite and his brother Jariah along with representatives from the Foundation left Barbados for a one week visit to Orlando Florida. Ajani’s wish was to visit Disney World and this was made possible in fine style as he was accommodation and treated like royalty at Give Kids the World Village. Ajani’s mum said that he had an awesome time while experiencing the spectacular rides and wonders of Disney World, and she is sure that he will never forget this experience. Andrea expressed her gratitude to the Foundation for granting Ajani’s wish and also for the special ‘surprise’ as Ajani and his family were transported home in a limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc. Another precious wish granted!
Ajani Grazette’s Wish Story
What was the wish?: To visit Disney World. Why did you choose this wish?: I choose this Wish because I wanted to go on a Roller Coaster. What did your wish mean to you?: To me this wish was a dream come through. Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?:My favorite moments were seeing the fire works and the Parade at Magic Kingdom and riding the Roller Coaster. How are you feeling now?: I’m feeling very happy and thankful for the experience. How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: I learnt about the Precious Touch Foundation while I was a patient on Ward C8 of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?:I want people to know that the Precious Touch Foundation Inc, is a foundation doing great work in helping children like me who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions and children who are terminally ill – wishes do come through.
I Wish To Go To Disney World – Jalea Walrond – 8 Years Old
Jalea Walrond (8 years) always wished to go to Disney World, so when this golden opportunity was presented to her by Precious Touch Foundation Inc. and Manulife Re she was the happiest little girl in the world. On March 26, 2016 Jalea accompanied by her mum Trazanne Walrond and her brother Jalani along with representatives from the Foundation, left Barbados for a one week visit to Orlando Florida where she enjoyed all the magical wonders of Disney World. Jalea made certain that she experience all the wonderful thrills and fantasies from as many rides as she could, and participated in all the entertainment planned for her at Give Kids the World Village. When asked about her experience at Disney World after returning home, Jalea said “I really love it and I had lots of fun” Precious Touch Foundation Inc. extends sincere thanks and appreciation to the management and staff at Manulife Re for their kind support in making Jalea’s wish come true. Sadly Jalea Walrond passed away on the morning of April 5, 2017.
I Wish To Go To New York – Tonya Holder – 15 Years Old
For quite some time, 15-year-old Tonya Holder wished to visit New York, U.S.A. to spend some time with her family and pamper herself with shopping. This golden opportunity was made possible through a wish which was granted by Precious Touch Foundation Inc. On July 18, 2015, Tonya, her step-mother Sandra Williams and a representative from the Foundation Harriette Clarke left Barbados for New York. With the assistance of Mr. Ricky Elcock, a very kind and generous Barbadian living in London, our wish family enjoyed a complimentary week at Sheraton Brooklyn New York Hotel. While in New York, Tonya and Sandra attended Sunday service at St. Andrew’s Crossroads Church with Harriette ‘s family. The time spent in New York was very exciting for Tonya and she was extremely happy to meet her family as they enjoyed some memorable moments together. On arrival in Barbados, a tired but excited Tonya said that she really had a wonderful time. She was welcomed back home by her father Tyrone Lewis and volunteers from the Precious Touch Foundation Inc. Thank you, Mr. Ricky Elcock, for making another precious wish come true. Unfortunately, Tonya Holder passed away on October 28, 2015.
Judah Sobers Wish Story
What was the wish?: To travel to Canada Why did you choose this wish?: From 2012 after his open heart surgery he always say i wish i could go way again What did your wish mean to you?: It was very unbelievable exciting an happy to know what he had wish for had really come true Can you tell us one of your favorite moments from this special wish?: On his birthday July 15 he kept asking what he getting for his birthday an as the day went on he got a surprise of his life he got the things he was asking for an when he saw them he ask who bring them there I laught an said Santa when he saw those things his face light up with broad smiles happiness an joy How are you feeling now?: Still can’t believe it actually happened still happy an thankful God is good couldn’t do it without him How did you learn of Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: In 2014 when Judah had his surgerythe morning had to go back to hospital later night little complications for second surgery that when I met with a team from Precious Touch Foundation Inc What do you want to tell people about Precious Touch Foundation Inc.?: That they put smiles on children’s faces DAT u could never imagine happiness joy an a lot of comfort to their lives
I Wish To Go To Canada’s Wonderland – Judah Sobers – 10 Years Old
Precious Touch Foundation Inc. continues to bring smiles, joy, and happiness to some very special children. With the kind assistance from Manulife Re, the Foundation was able to make 10-year-old Judah Sobers wish come true. On July 11, 2015, a very excited Judah, his mum Diedre Sobers and Adrian Millington left Barbados for Canada where they enjoyed a week vacation at the International Plaza Hotel. Judah’s wish included some exciting and breathtaking places such as Canada’s Niagara Falls, Canada’s Wonderland, Legoland Discovery Centre and the Zoo. While in Canada, Judah celebrated his 11th birthday which made his precious wish more awesome. From viewing the photos, one could see that the family had a wonderful time with volunteer Hetty Wilson and her family who made sure that Judah’s birthday was an unforgettable experience. On arrival back home, Judah’s shy smile was evident that he truly enjoyed his Canada’s wish. When asked what he liked most about his wish to Canada, Judah said: “I like everything”. To bring the excitement to a fitting end, Judah and his family were transported home in grand-style by a limousine from Exquisite Limousine Services Inc.
